ITN Clients

The staff of IT Nexus have extensive experience analyzing fragmented data environments and preparing enterprise technology and system implementation plans for a wide range of public sector clients - for many of these clients, we have gone on to design consolidated, enterprise-wide, database management systems.

The following provides a sample of our experience by identifying some of the clients and projects for which we have performed enterprise technology evaluations and assessments, developed phased implementation plans, and performed a range of implementation services to assist them to realize integrated, highly effective information management environments.

City of Carrollton, Texas


IT Nexus has provided the City with GIS consulting, design and implementation services since October 2005. Services delivered to the City include:
  • Preparation of a city-wide GIS needs assessment and a 4-year implementation plan.
  • Preparation of a city-wide database design in the ArcGIS geodatabase and SQL Server environments.
  • Development of the city’s water-sewer facilities GIS database.
  • Programming of web-enabled applications using ArcGIS Server.
City of Keller, Texas


IT Nexus has provided the City with GIS consulting, design and implementation services from October 2001 to present. Services delivered to the City include:
  • Preparation of a city-wide GIS needs assessment and a 4-year implementation plan.
  • Preparation of a city-wide database design in the ArcGIS geodatabase and SQL Server environments.
  • Development of the city’s GIS database, including parcels, street centerlines and water-sewer-storm facilities.
  • Programming of data maintenance applications using ArcObjects and web-enabled applications using ArcGIS Server.
Harris County Flood Control District, Texas


IT Nexus has provided design, SQL server, and .NET, programming services to HCFCD from April 2002 to present. Services rendered to date include:
  • Preparation of an enterprise-wide SQL Server database design to support the District’s property acquisition, right-of-way and drainage management functions. The database design provides for data sharing with other District databases, including its Project Tracking System, document management system and its GIS.
  • Programming a series of departmental and inter-departmental applications using .NET
  • Preparing user acceptance testing procedures for all deliveries.
  • Preparing user and technical documentation of all applications and delivering user training.
The Nature Conservancy


IT Nexus staff was contracted to serve as lead developer for the Nature Conservancy's Fire Data Mangement Tool (FDMT). IT Nexus also mentored  Conservancy developer staff in the use of .Net programming tools and ESRI's .Net ADF using ArcGIS Server. The FDMT application objectives include:  
  • Provide a web-based, spatially enabled application using ArcGIS Server to effectively and efficiently document fire management information and activities for Conservancy fire practitioners and partners working on-the-ground.
  • Provide staff at all levels of the organization with an efficient and user-friendly means to compile and analyze fire management data across landscapes, ecoregions, ecological systems, major habitat types and time for the purposes of adaptive management, strategic planning, risk analysis and resource allocation.
Santa Clara Valley Water District, California


IT Nexus performed an organization-wide needs assessment for an Environmental Monitoring Information Management System (EMIMS). The study evaluated the District's information management needs for collecting, storing, querying and analyzing enviromental information in support of the District's regulatory compliance requirements.

The final report defined a four-phase, system concept for building a centralized repository of environmental data. An implementation schedule and budget plan supports the recommendataions and the study's findings and recommendataions were presented to senior management.
City of Fort Worth, Texas


IT Nexus provided the City with IT and GIS consulting and system integration assistance from February 1999 – July 2003. Services rendered include:
  • Design and implemented a system integration interface that updates common data between the permit tracking system and the City’s GIS.
  • Provide database design and data conversion support to the GIS program.
  • Defined application requirements and prepared an action plan for the Police Department to meet its GIS and Crime Analysis needs.
  • Assisted the City’s Water Department prepare a GIS-Computerized Maintenance Management RFP.
City of Cleveland, Ohio


IT Nexus, under a subcontract to Montgomery Watson Harza, performed IT services for the City’s Parks, Recreation, & Property Department, and its’ Public Safety Department (police, fire, emergency medical services and computer-aided-dispatch). Specific tasks included:
  • Conducted interview sessions with the various divisions of the department to formally document the workflows, current database and data collection environment, and staffing and training requirements.
  • Created business process workflow diagrams of the department’s major work functions that would benefit from the implementation of GIS, including AS-IS diagrams outlining the current work flow and TO-BE diagrams highlighting where GIS will be used to add efficiency to the current work flow.
  • Defined technical requirements for the COTS procurement of Crime Analysis software and assisted with the customization, delivery and acceptance review the COTS product.
  • Defined the requirements for a GIS-enabled web site for Parks and Recreation.
  • Developed an ESRI – Oracle database design and database integration specifications to support the Parks and Recreation web site.
  • Implemented the web site using ArcIMS and installed and acceptance tested the application.
Texas Medical Board


IT Nexus prepared an IT Assessment and Evaluation of TMB’s computing environment and performed a gap analysis of the capabilities of its custom-built SQL Tracer application. Recommendations were provided for meeting TMB’s business objectives through migrating the SQL Tracer program to VB.NET and performing fixes, modifications, and enhancements to the application. In addition, Mr. Finkle provided recommendations on how to better organize the organization’s Information System Department and improve their methods and procedures for providing on-going IT support to TMB’s management and end users.

IT Nexus was then contracted to document the workflows of the TMB’s Enforcement Division as a precursor to the re-design of SQL Tracer to support the complaint and legal remedy and prosecution functions of the organization.
City of Killeen, Texas


IT Nexus served as the City’s GIS consultant and system developer from October 2000 to March 2005 and June 2007 to present. IT Nexus performed a city-wide database needs assessment of the work functions and existing databases used by the City’s Public Works, Community Services, Police, Fire and Aviation departments. Services rendered include:
  • Prepared a consolidated, city-wide database in the ArcGIS/SDE-geodatabase and SQL Server environment, delivering full database design and data dictionary documentation in HTML format. The database design provided for a consolidated database that shares data with the City’s H.T.E. utility billing system, pavement management system and Police Records Management System.
  • Performed data conversion and migration services to populate City’s GIS geodatabase for parcels, street centerlines, zoning, police and fire boundaries and facilities, water and sewer system, storm drainage system, flood plains, critical building footprints and political and administrative boundaries.
  • Implemented Azteca Cityworks asset and work order management system.
  • Programming of data maintenance applications using ArcObjects and web-enabled applications using ArcIMS.
